The Nothing Engine was formed in the spring/summer of 2001.
The intentions of it's members were to write songs and sing and play them. This, as with any band, doesn't always turn out to be the case, and sometimes they stop.
With socially observant lyrics and a keen ear for sounds coming from instruments whilst playing them, the band has found a solid sound and a solid guitar case for their guitars.

The band consists of the following musicians, all of which are listed alphabetically, except Oliver, who is listed metaphorically.

OLIVER DAVIES

INSTRUMENT OF CHOICE - drums.

STYLE - jazzfaced and sexlike.

HIS MUSICAL INFLUENCES CONSIST OF - Tool, At The Drive-In, Red Hot Chili peppers.

OTHER INFLUENCES ARE OF, ARE - Brass Eye, M C Escher.

HAIR COLOUR - Adam of Eternia blonde.

INTERESTING FACT ABOUT OLIVER - Once at school (at about the age of a pupil), Oliver was forced by the class bully to pour neat chlorine all over the science lab's frogs. The frogs perished soon afterwards of skin sufforcation, and Oliver, who was promptly lead (along with his parents) to the head master's office to discuss the possibility of either long-term suspension, expulsion or a fine, didn't.

RICHARD FOX

STYLE - craggy two-fingered.

INTERESTING FACT ABOUT RICHARD - Around the age of twenty one, Richard dabbled with paganism. Having found an interest in it some time before whilst watching a documentary with Melvyn Bragg and Lily Savage, Richard decided to go out and purchase formal Pagan robes, flowers and books on mystical rituals. However, during one particularly long and complex rain-chant, Richard fainted and fell, taking with him the black, silk table cloth from the table in front of him on the table, and the black candles on the table, causing his parent's house to burn down with fire from the candles. The table mysteriously survived, but Richard claims that this was due to a protection spell that he put on all the tables in the house. His parents beg to differ, claiming it to be MFI's good quality produce.

DANIEL PARKER

INSTRUMENT OF CHOICE - bass guitar and tonguenoise.

STYLE - break a string and lose the rhythm, you mother.
