1.12 To Hell And Back [ 109 ]
Matt has nightmares of his dead family. When Doreen and her drunk husband are in an accident Matt starts to have visions of his dead wife and daughter. Doreen dies and Lucas arrests the husband. Lucas offers Dr Crower the chance to go back to say goodbye to his family if he agrees to leave, but things don't turn out like he hoped and he decides to go after Lucas. Caleb listening to stories believes his neighbour has burried a body in his garden, but Caleb befriends him and learns his dog died.

1.13 The Beast Within [ 111 ]
Caleb has bad dreams about a man Artie in a jail cell. Artie, Ben's brother, escapes from the psyche ward and commits a robbery. He is shot, takes Lucas hostage then heads for the hospital. He holds Lucas, Caleb, Gail and Dr Crower hostage while Crower removes the bullet. Ben negotiates with Artie for an ambulance so he can get away and Crower is injured. Lucas manipulates the situation so that Ben is the hero cutting out a bomb under his brothers skin and getting rid of it before it explodes.

1.14 Ring Of Fire
Gail considers returning home and asks Caleb to come with her, but decides to continues looking into the death of her parents. She goes to see Lucas and asks for his help learning the truth. She learns the key she found opens a box her mother Christine used. Christine was a beaten wife and was pregnant when she died, she was also having an affair with Caleb's father Gage. Gail finds the box in the ruins of the Trinity Guardian offices with a letter from Gage. Gage started the fire to get rid of her father Peter so he and Christine could live together with their child but did not realise Christine was still in the building. [ 112 ]

A strange plague sweeps the town causing people to bleed from the eyes and ears. The center for disease control sends a man Billy Peel to investigate. Merlyn is punishing those involved with Lucas who have sinned and turns the river to blood. Dr Crower has a mental breakdown. Gails attraction to Lucas grows and they make love in his garden only for her to fall sick. Peel suspects Lucas of being a carrier and sends off a blood sample for testing. Caleb talks Merlyn around and everyone recovers. Selena turns her attensions to Billy.

1.16 Doctor Death Takes A Holiday [ 116 ]
Dr Crower finds Merlyn's x-rays proving she was not killed by a shovel to the head. He stops a woman, claiming to be Lucas's mother, from shooting Lucas. Lucas tries to get power of attorney over Dr Crower due to mental instability, but the judge won't sign. The judge's wife is addicted to gambling and Lucas causes her to lose $50,000. When she tries to slit her wrists the judge signs the papers. Dr Crower goes to Miss Holt to learn of the occult and he becomes more and more unstable until he goes after Lucas himself with a gun and he is arrested.

1.17 Learning To Crawl [ 117 ]
Caleb is accidentally electrocuted and he meets Merlyn and Lucas in the spirit world before he is revived. A tobacco CEO is kidnapped and held for ransom in a cabin in the woods by a gang Ted, his brother Cody and Cody's wife Jeri. Ted shoots the hostage when he tries to escape. Lucas takes Caleb fishing with Selena. When they arrive at the cabin Ted takes them hostage but Lucas soon turns things around. Cody and Jeri return trapping them inside and Lucas turns them against each others and Jeri shoots Cody. Lucas starts to teach Caleb his power to turn peoples weaknesses against them and Caleb takes care of Jeri. Billy and Gail go looking for them followed by Ben and Floyd.
